When I was growing up, like other boys my age, I wanted to be a fireman, baseball player, farmer or an astronaut! When I got older, I watched my brother attend medical school and thought, "That's interesting!" When I saw his medical textbooks, it didn't look too interesting. In college I became active in several social action groups, working with senior citizens and becoming active in a Speaker's Bureau. I met a lot of different people, and saw families struggle through difficult times & triumph over their obstacles. I thought about the things I liked to do: Meet new people, learn new things and help solve problems. Becoming a lawyer seemed to be an ideal profession where I could do all of these things. I attended NYU Law School and found that the law was an exciting place for new ideas and challenging solutions to the issues of the day. When I began practicing law, I discovered that I could help people and make a difference in someone's life. My passion and dedication to practicing law were born! Practicing law is like solving a jigsaw puzzle: Where are the missing pieces? How do they fit? What will it eventually look like? It's exciting, challenging and fulfilling. Each day I meet new people and learn new things. I use the law to help people find solutions to their concerns and make an impact on their lives: recovering from a serious accident, going through a difficult divorce or planning for the future. While I'm not a fireman, baseball player, farmer or astronaut, I'm very proud and happy to be a lawyer! We Practice Law the Right Way: Strength, Character & Know-HowLaw Offices of Elan Wurtzel, P.C.
